The Lazers posted a 7-0 record in the 20-team tournament, which included teams from Orange County, San Diego, Temecula, Arizona and Las Vegas, with McGoldrick, a defensive midfielder, helping anchor their defense that allowed an average of two goals a game in the seven-game contest. McGoldrick, who stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs in at 180 pounds, will be a junior and play football for the Golden Knights next year.
St. Francis will introduce lacrosse as a CIF sport next spring, which will make it the first CIF boys’ team offered in the San Gabriel Valley.
The LA Lazers are a club lacrosse program in Los Angeles County featuring top players from several high schools including Oak Park, Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Westlake, Thousand Oaks, Crespi, Laguna Blanca, Torrance and West Ranch. The Lazers will take to the Tinsel Town Throwdown, July 7-8 in El Segundo and will wrap up the summer campaign in the Sonoma Shootout, July 21-22.
